The scope of application and the principle: Applicable to the ventilation, air-conditioning duct with flow volume control and fire prevention demand. Usually the damper is open. When fire occurs, the fuse plug promptly close automatically. Manually open the damper to reset the system 1. Close the valve manually 2. Close the valve automatically when fuse plug reaches its fusing temperature 70°C. 3. Adjusting air flow volume at will between 0°- 90° 4. Biggish circular fire damper uses rectangular damper body equipped with a circular angle iron flange. 5. Can install additional signal device as users demand. |

☆Fire dampers act as the first line of defence during accidental fires, preventing the fire from spreading by cutting down the air supply. This device saves crucial time during an emergency by nipping the problem in its bud.
☆A fire damper maintains the integrity of the fire, separating elements by automatically closing the passage for a specific period, which prevents the fire from spreading to other parts of the building.
☆Even if there is no one in the building, the fire dampers work with absolute precision by shutting down the valves of the HVAC system and not allowing the fire to spread. In addition, they automatically close off air ducts and ventilation openings when they detect high temperatures, smoke, or flames.
☆The damper consists of a metal frame with a blade or shutter that can be horizontal or vertical and is held in the open position by a fusible link or thermal sensor. When the temperature in the duct or ventilation opening reaches a certain threshold, the link or sensor activates, causing the blade or shutter to close and block the passage of air and smoke.
Type
Dynamic fire dampers
Dynamic Fire Dampers are located in vertical barriers, where the HVAC system fan will stay on in the event of a fire. Because they are installed in vertical barriers, these particular fire dampers have a spring-loaded design. The spring-loaded design is where the doors of the damper have a spring like action when they are forced to shut.
Static fire dampers
Static Fire Dampers are located in barriers where the HVAC system fan will shut off in the event of a fire. These particular fire dampers would be installed in horizontal barriers, and would have a curtain like design. Since the HVAC system fan will turn off, there would be no air pressure and the door of the damper will fall due to gravity.
Applications
Textile and Paper Mills – Waste heat recovery boilers use the bypass and face dampers to recover heat energy that can be reused as input
Waste-Water Treatment – Guillotine dampers are suitable for isolating inlets, outlets, precipitators and stacks as well as flue gas clean up
Power Generation – Hydro-electric, Nuclear and other power generation such as turbines use multi-blade control dampers to modulate flow and backdraft or pressure relief dampers to ease pressure
Other Industries – Marine (oil exploration, ships), nuclear (power generation) and transit/tunnel (passenger or mining) industries have many uses for fire dampers
